I want to extend my sincere condolences to the families of the Army Colonel and Major who were killed by Afghanistan security forces over this “burning Koran” episode.
If we had resolute leadership in the White House, we would have explained that these Islamic terrorist enemy combatants detained at the Parwan facility used the Koran to write jihadist messages to pass to others. In doing so, they violated their own cultural practice and defiled the Koran and turned the Koran into contraband. The Islamic cultural practice and Parwan detention facility procedures support burning the "contraband." Instead here we go again, offering apology after apology and promising to "hold those responsible accountable." Responsible for what?
When tolerance becomes a one-way street it leads to cultural suicide. This time it immediately led to the deaths of two American Warriors. America is awaiting the apology from President Hamid Karzai.
Day seven of the Muslim Qur'an burning riots witnessed the Taliban explode an airport in retaliation, Afghanistan announce that NATO has agreed to put American troops on trial over allah's burned books, Shia Islamists in Iran castigate the Muslim world for their "silence", and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar issue the following statements in regards to the events that have transpired over the Qur'ans.

Al-Azhar is the senior most Sunni Muslim institution on the planet, and Iran is the Shia Muslim capital of the world. When the overall Qur'an burning situation is boiled down, Muslim governments, Islamic theological institutions, and "terror" groups (aka Mujahideen) on both sides of the Sharia family tree are banging their Jihad drums in unison. In that context, it's hard to escape the feeling that the storm clouds are gathering and it may well get ugly.
Is the simmering clash of the civilizations about to be brought to the point of boiling over because some paper was burned on which terrorists had written Jihad notes?
Will the marxist-in-chief inadvertently ignite a Patriot Spring in America by attempting to follow through on something as outrageous, unacceptable and psychotic as agreeing to supply our troops as sacrificial offerings to be slaughtered at the alter of allah's burned books?
I can't answer either question with certainty because there is quite a bit left to play out in the near future. That said, it sure seems like the environment is rapidly shaping up to be conducive to occurrences along those lines and on such a scale.
If war is ever lawful, then peace is sometimes sinful
In addition to continued death and destruction perpetrated by Muslims in Afghanistan today, the Afghan president restated his completely psychotic and indescribably maddening demands for "punishment and investigation" over the burned Qur'ans. His Muslims are murdering our troops for "mocking" the Qur'an protests, and he's demanding legal remedy for the supposed "desecration" of books that were previously desecrated by their Muslim owners.
Karzai must be out of his Islam-perverted mind to make such outrageous and belligerent demands of America and our military. A legitimate American president would present him with the options of shutting his damn mouth, or finding himself dropped off at the local Taliban Mosque wrapped in a prayer rug shaped like a bow.
Yesterday, on Tyranny's Nemesis, I spent the entire show on the first 5 days of the protests. I encourage people to listen, to get outraged about this chaotic and deadly environment Obummer has manufactured for our troops, and to start raising hell with their Congressmen and Congresswomen. This apologizing to backwards barbarians as they continue to murder, maim, and destroy is complete insanity and extremely dangerous to the nation.
The Afghan Jihad in progress over NATO troops burning Qur'ans belonging to terrorists has proven once again Islam's incompatibility with western civilization and rational thought. When will the know-nothings wake up?
Even after the White House offered a full apology, and the Muslim arse-kissing general promised the "precious religious materials" of Islam would be protected at all costs moving forward, the violent Qur'an burning psychosis has yet to be suppressed. For two days and counting, the allah-insanity has raged in Afghanistan. There has been plenty of serious injuries and the dead bodies are piling up.
Fatwa Flashback: The last time the sights and sounds of the "religion of peace" filled the news over Qur'ans being burned, General "Sheikh" Patraeus was on every news channel apologizing for the heinous acts committed against the "Holy Qur'an", and Lindsey Graham was out dreaming of some tyrannical device whereby people could be held legally accountable for exercising free speech (Qur'an burning).
How are we ever going to defeat the Islamofascists if the American military is afraid of burning the very book that served as the mandate for 9/11?

America has become a dhimmi nation. We have "submitted" to religion of allah. There exists no better example of this truth than the fact we contort ourselves in submissive pretzels and promise to protect Islamic unholy books from being burned by whatever means possible, and at the same time burn bibles just because their existence might offend the Muslims.
It's long past time we stop pretending Islam is anything another other than a 7th century creed of blood, horrors, and sexual perversion dreamed up by a child rapist. This treating Muslims as a protected class and playing make-believe about the backwardness of Islam being equal to other religions and the western way of life is quite enough already!
A little over a week ago, the Iranian regime made a totally mockery out of DHS, exposed the absolute farce that is US national security, and claimed a victory for team Jihad. Under the direct orders of Ayatolla Khamenei, Iranian operatives instigated "anti-war" protests in cities all over America. I don't have an exact count on the number of protests. But, according to one of the participating websites, protests were scheduled in more than fifty cities, and I personally viewed videos of protests in at least ten different locations.
In the grand scheme of things, whether there were ten protests, fifty, or some number in between makes little difference. These were demonstrations on American soil that were initiated by the most belligerent terrorist dictatorship on the planet. The mere fact they occurred at all is an unmitigated security disaster.
Putting aside the painful national security black-eye, the tactics of the regime are worth reciprocating, and there appears to be a near term opportunity to do just that...

Over the last few days, the Iranian theo-fascsists once again flexed their tyrannical grip on internet access in Iran. Beginning late last week, the regime began blocking access to specific websites, and even went so far as to completely block all encrypted web traffic (SSL and TLS), rendering any website implementing "https" unreachable. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google are some of the websites made off-limits by the cyber-terrorists in Tehran.
The news out of Iran today seems to indicate that access to blocked protocols and websites has been at least partially restored. Unfortunately for the Iranian people, the mad Mullahs and Ahmadinejad have only just begun their campaign of cyber tyranny.
With the stated goal of "ditching the old World Wide Web in favor of a parallel network", the regime has spent somewhere around a billion dollars on the creation of an "internet that conforms to Islamic principles". This soon to be imposed Halal Internet (I'm calling it Sharia-Net), is nothing short of an attempt by the terrorist government to digitally isolate it's own citizens in a fabricated cyber world wherein facts can easily be obfuscated, propaganda injected at will, and "truth" controlled by the Islamo-fascists in power.
In direct opposition to the best interest of all people in Iran (except those in the regime), and contrary to the wishes of many Iranians, Khamenei and crew endeavor to implement Sharia-Net as a means of controlling and manipulating the Iranian population. The disdain Iranians have for the coming tyranny of Sharia-Net, combined with their agitation over the censorship mechanisms and policies already in place, provides an environment ripe for exploitation, and primed for a strategically significant counter-attack.
To exploit the situation created by Iran's totalitarian overreach, the regime's attempts to control access must be continuously frustrated by providing Iranians the technical means required to remain ahead of Sharia-Net, invisible to the Halal censors, and connected to the internet in total defiance of the terrorists in their so-called government.
Successfully mitigating the regime's cyber controls stands to produce tangible victories on multiple fronts. For starters, it would irritate the regime to no end...

From a public relations standpoint, its seems fairly challenging to come up with a non-military operation that would produce a bigger PR win than publicly spitting in the face of the regime by openly subverting their instruments of cyber tyranny on behalf of the Iranian people. In addition, ensuring Iranian opposition groups (and other potential allies within Iran itself) are able to communicate with the outside world would be a significant tactical victory scored in advance of any military conflict. And it's conceivable that fostering a rebellious attitude toward internet controls would encourage the same type behavior in many areas of Iranian life and ultimately morph into full-scale rebellion.
Unfortunately, explaining the general concepts and pointing out the benefits of subverting the Iranian regime's imposition of Sharia-Net is the easy part. Taking the concepts and turning them into technical solutions currently harbors a much greater degree of difficulty. In fact, I have not been unable to locate ready-to-implement technologies capable of meeting the challenges on the scale necessary. But, just because the entire technical dilemma cannot be solved by what's currently available, that doesn't mean things are not headed in the right direction, or that nothing can be done in the here and now.
There are American backed initiatives in development and emerging technologies (such as Tor), which can be harnessed to irritate the Iranian regime today, and appear to hold even greater potential for the near future. So, while the fully capable technical solutions are elusive at this very moment in time, the day is fast approaching when that will no longer be the case.
Fars News Agency is reporting that a high ranking Iranian commander has declared America incapable of military action against Iran, citing pro-regime "Occupy" protests recently held in American cities as "proof" to backup his ridiculous assertion.

Jazayeri said on Tuesday that the US and Israel are in no position to launch a military strike against Iran due to their particular vulnerability to Tehran's counterattacks.
The senior Iranian commander also stressed that the Islamic Republic brushes aside Washington's carrot and stick approach toward Tehran as Iran pursues its elevated aspirations.
The US war and peace signals are either pointless or lack enough credence when it comes to policymaking, Jazayeri pointed out.
The US government is in such a desperate situation that even Americans have been pouring into the streets across the country to protest against the capitalist system and chant slogans in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, added the Iranian general.
Conspicuously absent from the general's comments is any mention that the protests were authorized by Khamenei, and organized with the assistence of the regime and their sympathizers...

On Tuesday, most media outlets reported on the 30 page "worldwide threat assessment" submitted to Congress by US Intel. There was lots of talk about a "weakened Al-Qaeda" and a "more dangerous Iran". It's seemed like everyone was making a fairly big deal over the Iranian assessment, so I read the report to see what all what all the excitement was about. Here's my two cents on the assessment and the threat from Iran...
The assessment itself is a general summary of threats worldwide, so it's pretty lite on specifics and details. But the report does point out the recent failed Saudi Ambassador assassination plot, it goes into some details about Iran's known nuclear capabilities, and also predicts increased belligerency coming from Tehran. Overall, the tenor of the commentary comes across a bit too optimistic. And the assessment appears to underestimate Iran's capabilities, while it overestimates the regime's level of sanity.
News reports of continued Iranian advancements in their missile and nuclear programs, a rash of publicly issued threats from the regime, and regular reports of foiled attacks (both inside and outside of the US) make it abundantly clear. Iran is angry, very serious about doing harm, hell-bent on getting nukes, and a danger to the safety and stability of pretty much the whole world.
The "threats" above represent merely a sampling of the many promises of mayhem, death and destruction which have come from Iran recently. The Iranians are flailing around in fits of rage, threatening anybody and everybody who will listen. However, the Iranian regime isn't just flailing around issuing empty threats. The string of thwarted attacks makes it clear that they are serious.
As sanctions, assassinations, and additional measures continue to increase pressure on the Iranian government, the Mullahs, Ahmadinejad, and the rest of the regime will become even more unhinged...
Just how unhinged are they already?
Well, judging by the "plots" they've accused the US and Israel of taking part in, "out of their damn minds" is an understatement.
Paranoid delusions of Barbie doll infiltration and Harry Potter plots are only the beginning of the insanity in Iran. Their apocalyptic beliefs about the coming of an infidel-annihilating Muslim messiah, and the part they are to play in the "return", makes any belief in a "zionist" conspiracy behind Harry Potter seem relatively rational.

Nukes & War
Iran might play games with nuclear "negotiations". From time to time, they may even act the part of "truly committed". However, there can never be any legitimate hope for a peaceful end to a confrontation with people who see zionist-monsters in every closest, American spies under every bed, and believe that a nuclear holocaust will bring forth some Imam from hiding who disappeared centuries ago.
The reality of the situation is, so long as crazies like the Mullahs and Ahmadinejad are running the show, Iran will continue to seek to obtain nuclear weapons. And an Iran with nukes is a nightmare situation. There is absolutely no reason what-so-ever to believe anything other than Iran will use nuclear weapons, if they can get them. At minimum, they will hold the world hostage. Worst case, they will start using them to try to wake up Mahdi.
The Obummer administration is saying Iran will not be allowed to have nukes, and the Republican nominee will hold similar views on the subject (assuming one of the front-runners gets the nod and nothing crazy happens). The writing is all over the wall. In the coming weeks, months, and years Iran will continue their pursuit of military nuclear capabilities, and America (along with Israel, the EU, and others) will continue to try and stop them.
Iran is dangerously close to having nukes as it is, so every move made by America and others will be in an effort to apply serious pressure on Iran. Inevitability, the application of increasing pressure, and any future attack by America or Israel, will lead the crazies in Iran to lash out more frequently and increasingly target the homeland.
As things plays out, the greatest threats against the homeland will come from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRG) and Hezbollah (Iran's terror proxy). The attempted assassination of the Saudi Ambassador has been linked to the Gaurd's Quds Force, indicating they are connected operationally to sympathetic Muslims in the country. For Hezbollah's part, besides direct support from individuals in America, they are all over Latin America, including many places in Mexico, and their cells benefit from the experience of their allies in the narco cartels.
I'm quite certain people are tired of war, but I simply don't see anyway that we are going to totally avoid the use of the military. I think there are legitimate options for minimizing force, but I do not believe sanctions aren't likely to collapse the regime, and I don't think the administration is very hopeful either. I'm sure the generals are drawing up all sorts of different plans to deal with the situation by force, likely including various configurations partial military invasion, special-ops campaigns, Iranian opposition support, exploitation of divisions in the Iranian regime, and targeted air strikes of the Iranian nuclear facilities that our bombs can destroy (we can't get them all yet).
In the end, it may not be America who attacks first. Israel is understandably more anxious about Iran, being they are in such close proximity. The Israelis may tire of waiting for Obummer, and do what they feel needs to be done. But, whether it's Israel that jumps out first, or America takes the lead, unfortunately another military engagement, and progressive increases in the risk of terror attacks at home, is almost certainly on the horizon.
There's much more to be said about Iran. But, I'll leave it at that for now, and save it for another post.
Apologies to Fatwa readers for nearly a month of no new blog posts. What started weeks ago as a purposeful reallocation of my time (to study Iran) mutated into a wicked case of what I'm guessing is writer's block, the debilitating effects of which I just overcame in writing this very post.
The short story of what happened is, about a month ago, I set aside most of my free time and dedicated it to researching Iran and the various issues more in depth. Once the research was complete, for some unknown reason, I was unable to produce a post when I sat down to write the first time. The day after the failed first attempt, I tried again, but was no more successful than the day before.
I don't know how it happened (no, Muslims, it's was not the work of allah). However, I do know that I've spent weeks consumed in a productivity crippling mini psychological crisis. I've spent hours and hours staring at my computer screen, trying with every fiber of my being to perform the simple act of writing a post, and up until this post, I had not managed a single typed sentence for all the time wasted. The nightmarish cycle of painfully laboring over the construction of a sentence, only to immediately throw it out upon completion, was the most maddening exercise in frustration and futility. I hope it NEVER happens again.
